A Word a Week Photo Challenge – Pots

No one does pots quite like India. The holy men, or Siddhas, all over India carry small brass pots to collect money. They do not beg, but if you take their photo and don’t donate, they will literally chase you down. Fair is fair. Sometimes you learn the hard way.

No one does pots quite like India. In Thiruvanamalai we ran into a man who was apparently a pot dealer – okay, salesman – among other plastic accoutrements. Pots like his are most often used to carry water. Mostly by women. And mostly on their heads. In these photos, both women are carrying water at construction sites.

    1. Hi Alison. Thanks! I am not in India right now, although I have been twice and I’m sure to return there. I LOVE it. I was there for three weeks both times. I went with two different yoga groups. One with a guru the other a swami. They were very different but equally magical. It’s fun to continue to relive those moments through photos.
